Alyeska Hostel has been providing low cost accommodations to travelers for nearly 40 years.
Over that time we have hosted travelers from all over Alaska, and around the world. We have come a long way over the years... from propane lighting and cook stove, to our most recent renovations and upgrades in 2016/2017. We strive to provide clean, safe, and affordable accommodations year round.

Girdwood lies in the northernmost region of the west coast temperate rain forest. On average, Girdwood's annual precipitation is about 70". Typically, May and June are the driest months, while fall and winter bring heavy rains and snows. Temperatures range in the 50's -70's for May - August, Winter temps range from 0 to 40. The record high for Girdwood is 90, and the record low is -33. Winter snowfall in town at 250' above sea level ranges from 16 to 30 feet. Snowfall at Alyeska's upper lift terminal averages over 50 feet with some seasons approaching 75 feet of total snowfall.
